Hi Huskies!
Ren here – and congrats on finishing the first half of the first semester of the year! (Isn’t that a mouthful!) I just wanted to reach out and let you know what the union has been working on these past few weeks as we have been a little quiet!
Firstly, we hired a new officer team! And I am very excited to introduce Jack as your new operations and advocacy vice-president, Brynn as your events officer, Livio as your global campus officer, Hannah as your apprentice officer and Marco as your PG officer. This has been a super exciting time for us as a team as this is the first time we have had a full union and I cannot wait to see what these officers will do for you.
There’s been a lot of behind-the-scenes administrative work happening on the union recently, including a lot of advocating for students with their academic concerns, the creation of 7 new societies and a lot of event planning and website building. One major on-going union activity has been the work of our wonderful opportunities officer, Anita. Anita has been collecting information around careers here at NU London, to ensure that you are all being provided with adequate opportunities and information. If we don’t know what our students want to see, it’s hard for us to make these opportunities happen so please take a second to fill out the opportunities form. https://forms.office.com/r/PX72Miq2dL
Now, some of you may have already noticed our feedback box in the SU corner – please keep putting questions and comments in there! I’m working on a big document that addresses everything that’s been raised and will get that out to you as soon as possible. The union really wants to make sure you feel represented, so if there are any issues – or urgent matters, please let a member of my team know (in person or by email) and we will support you in any way we can.
The University challenge is back
And finally, I am happy to announce the Halloween Pub Crawl, which will take place on the 30th of October. Yes, you can dress up and we will be talking all about that on our instagram soon! Tickets are VERY limited so get them while you can! Linked below.
Get in touch if you need us or just want to chat!
Best,
Ren
