What does the union do?
The Northeastern University London Students’ Union creates a supportive community at Devon House, connecting students locally and globally. Its Officers run societies, sports, and events to bring together domestic, international, and NU students, while also strengthening collaboration between students and staff. The Union is dedicated to enhancing student life and offers support whenever needed.
How can I get in touch?
You can either use our contact us page, or get in touch with us via secretary@nulondon.ac.uk. You can also reach us through our various social media platforms.
Can I become an officer?
The union typically runs elections during the summer. However, if not all roles are filled we will run elections again once term commences in September.

How are you different from student life?
We are a completely separate department. The union and student life often work in tandem however. Your union is run entirely by students, and we are here to support you and provide opportunities for you and give you that extra helping hand. This can be from helping you with academic issues, to creating societies, to getting a student job. We are here to advocate with you and for you.
Student life focus more on your experience as a student here in London.
Are all events 18+?
No! We through a big mix of events to cater to all of our students. Our only fully 18+ events are pub crawls and off-campus bar/club nights.
On campus bar nights are open to all, but our student union bar operates a challenge 25 policy. Physical photo ID is required and student ID’s are not valid.
Can I host my own event?
Absolutely! We work with the events team to ensure that students can take advantage of as many opportunities on campus as possible. Please reach out to the secretary or events officer for more information.
Can I create my own society?
Absolutely, though there is a process. Please reach out to our communities officer (communities@nulondon.ac.uk) for more information.
Are all sports competitive?
Unfortunately, we don’t offer every single sport competitively, but we will endeavour to support you if you wish to compete outside of the university.
However, this does mean that many students get to try out a sport for the first time without any pressure. Our sports sessions are mostly recreational.
I'm a London scholar, can I still be involved?
Absolutely! We encourage you to as well! You can join our sports and societies, start your own society, and also potentially join the union or bar staff if we are hiring!
How do you advocate for students?
The union advocates for students through multiple channels. We can support students who might be in on-going academic misconduct cases, we can support students who need to report an incident. We represent you and your opinions by taking your concerns to the right people. We do this through sitting on academic boards, and various committees. We also run our own campaigns and help support yours.
How can I stay updated with the SU?
Best way to stay up to date with the union is through our instagram. Other channels do exist however, and you can read our newsletters via email or on our website.
Do you provide sports equipment?
We do not provide clothing/kit. But we do have a cupboard rental system for items such as rackets, hockey sticks, balls… etc..
If you wish to take part in a sport but cannot cover your own kit, please get in touch with our communities officer.
Are all events paid?
No! We offer a selection of free and paid for events.
The union would love to offer all of our events for free, but sometimes we need to subsidise the cost of tickets to ensure we can run the best events possible. We will always be transparent about what your ticket is going towards if this is the case.
In some cases, the union can subside the costs of an event if a person is in need. To do this please contact president@nulondon.ac.uk.
Is the SU Bar Free?
Unfortunately no, but we do offer very cheap prices for London during our events.
Does the SU have merch?
Currently, only the union officers have SU merch… however we are looking into a few options so stay tuned1
